Five miles of southbound I-15 in Davis County to close Friday evening
January 6, 2026
Separate weekday closures also planned for US-189 in Provo Canyon
The Utah Department of Transportation is advising drivers to plan for delays on southbound Interstate 15 from Friday, Jan. 9 through early Saturday, Jan. 10.
On Friday, Jan. 9 at 9 p.m., crews will begin closing lanes on southbound I-15 from Park Lane/North Station (Exit 325) in Farmington to Parrish Lane (Exit 319) in Centerville for pedestrian bridge work. Southbound I-15 will fully close at 10:30 p.m. and remain closed until 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10. Lanes will gradually reopen, with all lanes open by 7 a.m.
This work is part of the Shepard Lane Improved project, which is building a new interchange at Shepard Lane in Farmington to reduce congestion and enhance safety. One lane in each direction opened on the new overpass in November 2025.
The project will also improve pedestrian and bike connections along Park Lane, and the ramps associated with I-15, US-89, and Legacy Parkway (State Route 67).
Drivers should also plan for recurring daytime closures of U.S. Route 189 in Provo Canyon. Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 7 and occurring every Monday-Thursday through February, crews will close US-189 between Main Canyon Road in Wallsburg and the intersection of State Route 113 in Charleston from 10 to 10:50 a.m. for controlled blasting.
