I-15 in Davis County to be reduced to one lane every night starting tonight

Closures begin tonight and reopen by morning for pedestrian bridge work

The Utah Department of Transportation is encouraging drivers to plan for weeknight delays on Interstate 15 in Davis County.

Map showing the closure, the Southbound US-89 detour to Legacy Parkway, the Southbound US-89 detour to I-15, and the Northbound Legacy Parkway detour to US-89.

Starting Monday, Feb. 2, at 9 p.m., north and southbound I-15 from Glovers Lane to Park Lane will be reduced to one lane. Lanes will reopen by 7 a.m. each morning, with nightly closures continuing through the morning of Saturday, Feb. 7.

These closures support a carefully coordinated effort to install sections and foundations of a new pedestrian bridge into place for the Shepard Lane Improved project. Crews are working within a very constrained area where I-15, US-89, Legacy Parkway and a railroad line converge or overlap, requiring multiple overnight closures to safely maneuver bridge components through one of Northern Utah’s most complex transportation corridors.

Additional lane closures in the area are expected to occur, as the pedestrian bridge is approximately 20% complete and is anticipated to open later in the year.

Construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change. Drivers can visit the UDOT Traffic app or the project website for the latest information and upcoming traffic impacts.
