Description:
Title II regulations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) require UDOT to apply specific access design standards, developed by the United States Access Board, when constructing or altering pedestrian facilities. The ADA Accessibility Guideline or “ADAAG” contains the requirements for accessible facilities. The U.S. Access Board has developed a draft guideline that will address the unique challenges to accessibility for sidewalks, street crossings, and other elements of public rights-of-way.
