The Utah Department of Transportation has published its Environmental Assessment (EA) that evaluates ways to reduce winter traffic congestion on State Route (SR) 190 in Big Cottonwood Canyon. UDOT will be hosting a public comment period (Dec. 3 , 2025 to Jan. 19, 2026) and two public hearings (Dec. 17 and Dec. 18) to gather input from the community.

Individuals without internet access or needing accommodations including but not limited to translation, captioning, reviewing materials or submitting comments should call or email UDOT by Dec. 10, 2025, for assistance with the public hearings and Jan. 2, 2026, for assistance with making a comment.

Electronic or telephonic participation is not available for this in-person public hearing on Dec. 17, 2025. There is a virtual hearing the day after. Dec. 18, 2025. for those unable to make it in-person.
