Partnering Facilitation
Overview
The UDOT Partnering Facilitator process ensures that project teams, comprised of UDOT and contractor leaders, receive expert guidance in planning and executing Partnering meetings for successful project delivery. Facilitators serve as unbiased leaders, helping teams establish clear goals, foster collaboration, and address project challenges through structured workshops and ongoing sessions. To become an approved facilitator, applicants must demonstrate competency in construction, partnering, and facilitation, either through relevant experience or by completing UDOT’s certification courses. Approved facilitators maintain their status by attending an annual summit, staying current with program updates, and actively engaging in continuous improvement.

Partnering Facilitator Application
Anyone interested in becoming an approved facilitator must ensure they meet the standards and apply to be added to the approved pool of facilitators. Standards may be met by having years of education and background that demonstrate competence. Alternatively, interested applicants may complete the UDOT Partnering Facilitation Certification Course and demonstrate knowledge of the construction cycle process.
To maintain an active status, approved facilitators are required to attend an annual Partnering Facilitator Summit, held each January. If facilitators are unable to participate, they must contact the Facilitation Program Coordinator. At the annual meeting, attendees will discuss updates to the Partnering program or specifications, explore different delivery methods, and address concerns or questions. To get started, interested facilitators can complete the application form.
