US-40 & 1500 West Concrete Median, Vernal – Public Hearing

Mar11

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is proposing a project to construct a section of raised concrete curb in the median along US-40 in Vernal, at the intersection of 1500 West. If constructed, the raised curb would restrict left turns from 1500 West onto north or southbound US-40.

UDOT’s goal is to reduce traffic conflict points, promote driver awareness, and improve safety at this intersection. The proposed project may also include the replacement of pedestrian ramps and addition of crosswalks on the north and south legs of the intersection to improve pedestrian access and safety.

We are holding a Public Hearing to discuss the proposed project and take public comments. UDOT has completed a Draft State Environmental Study that will be available at the hearing for review. To learn more, or to review the draft State Environmental Study ahead of time, visit our project website: udotinput.utah.gov/us40and1500wmedian

Individuals needing special accommodations, including auxiliary aids, services, or language translation during this meeting should notify the study team seven (7) days in advance: 385-557-2585 or [email protected]

If you are unable to attend the in-person Public Hearing, written comments may be submitted by email to [email protected], or by mail to Consor PI, 38 E Scenic Pointe Drive Suite 300, Draper, UT 84020. Comments will be accepted through March 30, 2026.
