Overnight I-15 closure planned in Lehi Tonight

Power line work will temporarily shut down freeway near 2100 North

The Utah Department of Transportation will temporarily close Interstate 15 near 2100 North in Lehi overnight on Friday, May 15, while Rocky Mountain Power crews install new power lines across the freeway.

Lane closures will begin at 9 p.m., followed by a full freeway closure from midnight to 5 a.m.

Traffic will be detoured using nearby exits.

The utility work is part of the ongoing 2100 North project, which will improve east-west travel in northwest Utah County and create a new connection between I-15 and Mountain View Corridor. The work is needed to relocate utilities to accommodate improvements along the 2100 North corridor.

Drivers in the Salt Lake area should also plan for heavier traffic from Friday, May 15 through Sunday, May 17, due to the annual Kilby Block Party and ongoing construction at the I-215 and I-80 interchange.

Current ramp closures include:

  • Eastbound I-80 to southbound I-215: closed until May 18
  • Westbound I-80 to southbound I-215: closed through mid-August
  • Redwood Road to southbound I-215: closed until May 22
  • Southbound I-215 on-ramp from California Avenue: closed until May 18
  • Redwood Road to northbound I-215: closed until July 2027
