Description:

Demolition and earthwork are broad terms that encompass all the initial site work to be
completed by the Contractor before a highway construction. Proper preparation is
critical to ensure the completed project meets plan specifications.
As explained in Chapter 1, the first duty of an inspector is to become thoroughly familiar
with the contract plans, special provisions, 2017 Standard Specifications and Standard
Drawings, and any right-of-way agreements that apply to the project.
