2017 Standard Specifications
This section includes acrylic water-based pavement marking paint and application to hot
mix asphalt or Portland cement concrete pavement as longitudinal lines, transverse
markings, contrast lines, and other related markings. Also includes pavement marking
removal.
General
Pavement marking paint is an acrylic water based paint applied to PCCP or HMA as edge
lines, center lines, broken lines, guidelines, contrast lines, symbols and other related
markings. The paint is applied with glass
beads that enhance visibility.
The inspector must determine if the paint
needs to be sampled according to MS&TR.
The inspector observes and documents the
sampling procedure. The samples must be
labeled with date, project name, project
number, color, manufacturer, batch
number, striping company, field number
and name of person taking sample.
