Pedestrian Bridge Opening Celebration
UDOT will open new pedestrian bridge at 5600 South to make it safer for kids to get to school
Bridge will provide another safe route to Roy Elementary and Junior High
SALT LAKE CITY (Aug. 15, 2025) — The Utah Department of Transportation will be celebrating the opening of the new pedestrian bridge over State Route 97 (5600 South), just in time for school.
This new bridge will provide locals, especially students attending Roy Elementary and Roy Junior High Schools, with increased access and transportation choices. Both schools will begin their new school years on August 19.
Media are invited to attend an event with local parents and students to cross the new pedestrian bridge.
