Stormwater Management

Stormwater Management Program

UDOT complies with a statewide Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) discharge Permit required by EPA and regulated by the State Division of Water Quality (DWQ). This Permit allows UDOT to discharge stormwater from roadways and UDOT-owned and operated facilities, such as maintenance facilities, port of entries, rest areas, park and rides and visitor’s centers.

UDOT has prepared a Stormwater Management Program (SWMP) plan that describes the minimum control measures and other activities to minimize the discharge of pollutants from UDOT roadways and facilities, to waters of the State.
