Utah AAM Infrastructure and Regulatory Study

In coordination with, and at the request of, the Utah Legislature our Division organized the Utah Advanced Air Mobility Working Group. This report is the culmination of the working group’s findings and input as well as a study conducted of the infrastructure assets now in place and those anticipated as necessary to make advanced air mobility a reality in Utah.

Land-Use Planning for Vertiports

Urban Air Mobility (UAM) is a rapidly developing industry that highlights tremendous growth opportunities and major shift in the delivery mode of services and products. This project focuses on a vital step towards the integration of UAM: the siting of vertiports based on their impact on the surrounding community.

Airports As Connected Activity Centers

This research project determined how airports could function as connected activity centers. The current state of policy is to treat airports as secluded from the rest of the metropolitan area and only engage in reactive planning in response to specific threats or crises.

Utah’s AAM Economic Impact Forecast

Utah is one of America’s economic powerhouse, ranking at or near the top of numerous national indexes for both business and social excellence. Utah is embracing innovative technologies like Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) to address transportation challenges while pursuing broader goals, including reducing emissions to improve air quality, supporting economic development, and enhancing quality of life through new mobility options and job creation.
