The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) recognizes that special events such as parades, bicycle events, walks, assembly/free speech events, marathons, or film-related activity may desire to use public roadways.

Administrative Rule R920-4 establishes standards that balance the safe use of roadways for events with the need to preserve smooth flow of traffic on the state highway system in terms of safety, capacity, and speed.

Permit Process and Forms

1. Apply online for a Special Event Permit
   • Application Checklist
2. Pay the non-refundable review fee(s)
   • Fee Schedule
3. Provide any missing documents or updates if requested
4. Accept the permit when the application status is pending
